Bitesize Bookbinding Bundle

Location: Ink On Mesh, The Heart of Newhaven, Edinburgh
Date/time: 10am-1.30pm, Tuesday 4, 11 & 18 February

Kick start your year with some bookbinding magic and join me for a weekly foray into the wonderful world of upcycled bookbinding!

In each workshop I’ll share my upcycled twist on a different book structure, with plenty of opportunity for you to add your own personal touches –

• 4 February: Refillable Journal  – create an A6 refillable hardback book with elasticated spine, complete with pockets and two removable booklets. A really handy book that you can use and reuse – I’d be lost without mine!
• 11 February: Needle Books and Mini Books – make a hand-bound needle book incorporating remnant fabric/leather/pleather and a matching mini book. A great way to repurpose scraps and learn a range of upcycling techniques.
• 18 February: Mini Bookbinding – craft yourself a nifty envelope book, consisting of pocket/envelope pages, stitched together with an exposed French link stitch. A great structure for storing correspondence, which also makes for a really personal gift.

>Please note: the aim is for you to leave each session with a completed book, but sometimes things can take a little longer, depending on how much work you want to put in etc. Should you need to continue making your book at home, full video instructions will be provided following the workshop.

Accessibility: the Ink on Mesh studio is up a flight of stairs and isn’t accessible by lift, if this is a problem please get in touch as alternative workshop space on the ground floor is a possibility.

Booking/cancellation policy: I need a minimum of 4 people to cover costs and go a-head with this workshop, you will be given advanced warning is the class needs to be cancelled and offered the option to transfer your place to a future workshop or receive a refund. Once you have booked a place,  if you are no longer able attend you will be given the option to transfer to a future class but a refund will not be possible.
