Designed for avid note takers, list makers, daily sketchers, stationary lovers and those of us who like to have a notebook to hand at all times – this workshop invites you to make a functional & fabulous refillable journal and get some gentle guidance on how to start working into your new book!

For this special edition of our popular online workshop, I am joined by Julie Galante – strap in for a magical mix of bookbinding and journalling.

The refillable journal –
The A5 refillable journal you will make in class features a hardcover, wrapped in your choice of decorative paper or fabric, nifty pocket and envelope inserts to hold your treasures/receipts (because everything is better with pockets) and an elasticated spine with room for 4 removable booklets.

Peppered in amongst the book making, Julie will share some ideas and exercises that invite you to tackle the blank page and explore different approaches to mindful journalling.

We know that starting in a new book (especially one you have made) can be daunting and the term ‘journalling’ can be a bit off-putting for some, but you’re in safe hands with Julie who will share –

  • Guidance on how to get going with your new journal – some writing and sketching exercises designed to tap into our creativity and promote wellbeing.

  • Ideas on how to approach a journalling practice and the benefits that regular writing can bring.

  • Methods such as free writing, gratitude journaling, mind mapping.

Leave this class with a unique and usable new book that you can use and reuse for years to come, a toolkit of creative prompts and ideas that will enable you to craft a journalling practice that works for you and follow up video instructions for a reminder of the process!

>Price includes all materials, refreshments and follow up video instructions should you want to make more of these nifty journals for family and friends or revisit the journalling prompts covered in class.

Please note: there will be an element of sticking some of the inserts into your book at home so that you can properly press them overnight – you will be provided with glue and clear instruction on how to do this.
