Date/time: Saturday 12 October, 10am – 4.30pm, or 10am – 1pm for the morning session / 1.30pm-4pm for the afternoon session
Join Bookbinder Cass Barron, Printmaker Lorna Brown and Yoga Teacher & Community Gardener Hayley Chandler for a creative and mindful day inspired by The Heart of Newhaven community garden. A chance to share in some creative, mindful making, as well as foraging and eating to mark the shifting seasons.
This event is funded by Thrive Edinburgh and The Bridge Awards and is part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival – it is an accessible event, designed for people who would benefit from some creative time out but who are experiencing barriers to accessing wellbeing/creative activity – an invitation to slow down and explore the wellbeing benefits of being creative and connecting with nature.

Please note:
>This is designed to be a full day event but if attending for half a day is more do-able for you then we can accommodate this – select your preferred session from the drop down. Whichever option you choose we would love to invite you to stay for lunch which will take place from 1-1.30pm – we will be in touch about dietary requirements.
> Venue accessibility – the workshop venue is on the ground floor with a disabled toilet available, if you have accessibility issues that it would be good to know about prior to the workshop so we can best support you, please let us know by contacting bookbindingwithcass@gmail.com

More information on what’s included in the workshop:
- Welcome, introductions and tour of the garden.
- Nature based meditation exercise with Hayley (in the garden, weather permitting)
- Foraging for plant specimens that can be used for printing
- Have a go at a range of printing techniques using your plant specimens and botanical inks
- Make a book/journal incorporating your printed papers with Cass
- Shared lunch from 1-1.30pm cooked by Hayley using produce from the garden
- Discussion on journaling for wellbeing with ideas on how to use your book after the workshop
