Location: Anchor Building, The Heart of Newhaven, Edinburgh
Date/time: 10am – 4pm, Tuesday 29 July
Join me for a botanical inspired bookbinding workshop – a great opportunity to take some time out before festival madness hits Edinburgh and do some mindful making in good company.
We’ll begin by making a collection of botanical stamps and use leaves foraged from The Heart of Newhaven Community Garden to decorate a mix of papers. I will then share how to turn your prints into a hand-stitched book featuring a leather/pleather cover and exposed binding inspired by a leafy vine.
There will be lots of opportunity to personalise your book and add nifty pockets, a page divider and try out different closures.
You’ll leave the workshop with a finished A6 size book that makes for a great nature journal, sketchbook or gift for a fellow leaf lover, plus a selection of prints, reusable botanical stamps and follow up video instructions should you wish to make more books at home.
Tea/coffee & botanical treats to fuel your crafting are included!
> Early Bird price of £90 available until 10 July, £100 thereafter.
Accessibility: the workshop space is on the ground floor with accessible toilet in the adjacent building. If you have access requirements, please get in touch asap so I can support where needed.
