This beauty of a book structure would make for a great gardening or nature journal, with lots of opportunity to personalise!
My step-by-step video tutorial covers how to prep your cover, create a stitch template, make up your signatures (including a pocket insert, because who doesn’t love a pocket!) and bind together, before finishing off with a nifty page divider and wind around fastening.
In my video I make an A7 sized book – my instructions cover how to scale up and down if you would like to experiment with the sizing – the dimension of paper you’d like to include in your book will be used to measure all the other elements i.e. the cover and thread.
*Also included is a bonus video on printing with leaves – a simple but effective technique for creating your own decorative papers that just requires an ink pad and some foraged leaves.
A comprehensive materials/tool list is provided with recommended suppliers so you can source everything you need – if you have dabbled in bookbinding before you will likely have most of what you need already. Scroll down for an overview.
