Location: Anchor Building, The Heart of Newhaven, Edinburgh
Date/time: 10.30am-4.30pm | Monday 8 June
Join me to create a botanical inspired book featuring a decorative leaf inspired exposed binding in this day long workshop.
We will begin by creating a series of decorative papers using a range of simple but effective mark making techniques working with leaves foraged from the Heart of Newhaven Community Garden. I’ll then guide you through creating a series of signatures/pages for your book incorporating your hand-printed papers and a mix of nature inspired decorative papers from my collection.
In the second half of the class you will construct your book and begin work on binding it together using a stitch of my own creation that references a leafy vine. There will be lots of opportunity to add personal details as well as pockets, a nifty page divider and explore a range of fastening techniques.
Video instructions will be provided after the workshop.
Tea, coffee and sweet treats included.
Accessibility: the workshop space is on the ground floor with accessible toilet in the adjacent building. If you have access requirements, please get in touch asap so I can support where needed.
Booking/cancellation policy: I need a minimum of 6 people to cover costs and go a-head with this workshop, you will be given advanced warning is the class needs to be cancelled and offered the option to transfer your place to a future workshop or receive a refund. Once you have booked a place, if you are no longer able attend you will be given the option to transfer to a future class but a refund will not be possible.
