Case Binding – online workshop (no kit)

£30.00

Create a case bound book with hardback fabric cover – my upcycled take on a classic book structure that is a bit fiddly but ever so satisfying to master!

SKU: N/A Category:

This popular bookbinding technique features a hand-stitched and glued book block and made-to-measure cover. Inspired by my love of working with upcycled materials, my videos share a nifty method for adhering remnant cotton fabric to your cover and instruction on how to use small fabric offcuts to make your own coordinating end bands.

In my video I make a 5 signature case bound book using 21×7.4cm paper, but my instructions explain how to scale up and down, meaning that you can use this tutorial to make books of different shapes and sizes.

A comprehensive materials/tool list is provided with recommended suppliers so you can source everything you need – if you have dabbled in bookbinding before you will likely have most of what you need already.  Scroll down for an overview.
