How this course is taught?
Via a series of step-by-step video tutorials, which you can work through at your own pace. These are accompanied by a downloadable document with links to recommended suppliers, advice on sourcing & prepping materials and info on how to make books of different sizes should you want to make more – bookbinding is an addictive craft, you’ve been warned!
You will have continued access to my video tutorials via a password protected page on my website, which means you can re-watch and revisit this bookbinding project as and when you like for a reminder of the process – I only ask that you please don’t share log in details with friends or third parties, doing so will result in you loosing access.
materials/tools required?
You will be given access to a comprehensive materials/tool list upon purchasing this workshop. Here is a brief overview of what you will need to give you an idea of what is required:
- leather or pleather book cover, plus extra to make a fastening
- Plain paper cut to size, A5
- Decorative papers
- Mix of white and coloured threads
- Waxed bookbinding thread
- Envelope to include in your book
- Awl
- Cork punch board
- Bookbinding needle
- Bonefolder
- Bulldog clips x2
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- A cutting mat or chopping board
