Join me to get creative with recycled papers, old Christmas cards and wrapping paper to make a collection of sustainable book themed decorations, and a nifty book folder to store your scrap papers for future projects.
Work through the projects at your own pace or why not get a group of friends together and have a festive craft-a-long so you can share materials and some festive cheer in the process.
This 3 project bundle includes step-by-step videos for how to make a:
*Star book – This fold and stick book structure makes for a great hanging decoration and also doubles up as a postable pop out card to send to a loved one. I have also used these star books, made in different sizes, to create an eye-catching table centre piece and hanging garland – a great way to reuse materials and create a fold away decoration that you can enjoy getting out each year!
*Festive mini book decoration – this layered mini book uses remnant paper, old Christmas cards, thread and beads to create a hanging decoration which opens up to reveal a wintery scene. A lovely edition to your Christmas tree and a decoration that you can enjoy getting out year after year.
*Book folder – not exactly festive but a nifty pre-Christmas present for yourself and your craft stash! The projects above both involve using a mix of remnant papers, showing that you can get creative with even the smallest of offcuts. I love working with discarded materials but it’s often tricky deciding what to recycle, what to keep and how to store it! This A4 size folder with 6 pockets and wrap round cover is a great way to store smaller pieces of paper – in this tutorial I show you how to create your own handy book folder, using 4 sheets of A2 paper and some basic tools.
> All these projects require easy to source tools and materials, many of which you will likely already have to hand i.e. remnant papers, thread, glue, scissors, needle – a full kit list is provided upon purchase.
