How this course is taught?
This course is taught via a series of step-by-step video tutorials, accompanied by a downloadable document with links to recommended suppliers and advice on sourcing & prepping materials. In my video tutorials I make an A7 sized book with 5 signatures and cover how to scale up or down if you want to make the same book in a different size/shape.
You will have continued access to my video tutorials via a password protected page on my website, which means you can revisit my videos for a reminder of the process whenever you need – I only ask that you please don’t share log in details with friends or third parties, doing so will result in you losing access. You will also have access to the private Bookbinding with Cass Facebook page where you can share your makes, ask questions and get ideas as you progress through the course.
Materials
You will get access to a comprehensive kit list upon purchasing this workshop, which includes a list of easy to source materials, many of which you may already have to hand –
- Grey board for book covers (the back of an old calendar or sketchpad will work nicely)
- Plain paper
- A sheet of thick paper for the spine
- A mix of coloured threads for stitching your books (embroidery thread works well for this)
- 1.5mm round elastic to fasten your book
- Decorative papers (collected from your travels or an event)
- Glue stick
- Wet glue such as UHU or PVAOptional:
- Thin cotton fabric for cover
- Double sided adhesive sheet
