These joyful mini books make great gifts and are a brilliant way to use up off cuts and smaller pieces remnant material.
My comprehensive video tutorials take you through the making process step-by-step and cover, how to prepare your pages, make a hole punch template and bind 4 books, each with a different exposed stitch. I then share 4 nifty ways to fasten your books using buttons, elastic and a leather/pleather wrap around, with lots of ideas on how to incorporate different materials into the books.
How this course is taught?
This course is taught via a series of step-by-step video tutorials, accompanied by a downloadable document with links to recommended suppliers and advice on sourcing & prepping materials.
You will have continued access to my video tutorials via a password protected page on my website, which means you can revisit my videos for a reminder of the process whenever you need – I only ask that you please don’t share log in details with friends or third parties, doing so will result in you losing access.
This online workshop comes with a materials/tool list if you want to source your own or take advantage of my accompanying materials/tool kit, details on what’s included below.
Kit options…
My accompanying Mini Bookbinding materials kit contains all the paper, leather/pleather and thread you need to make the 4 books covered in the workshop:
- 4 leather or pleather book covers in different colours*
- Plain paper cut to size
- Roll of decorative & vintage paper
- Waxed bookbinding thread in a range of colours
- Buttons, elastic, leather/pleather and twine for fastenings
*For the 4 book covers, there is the option to choose animal leather or pleather – a leather-look vegan alternative to animal leather made from PVC with a woven backing. All the leather and pleather included in my kits is remnant or end of line – diverting quality material from landfill and giving it a new lease of life as unique and usable books!
> If you would prefer to provide your own materials/tools, see ‘Mini Bookbinding (no kit)’ for more information and to purchase access to just the video tutorials, which come with a comprehensive kit list so you can source your own materials.
Need the tools too? My bookbinding toolkit contains a set of great quality tools that you can use for this bookbinding project and beyond:

* In addition to the kit you will need to provide:
