French Link Stitch Binding – online workshop (no kit)

£32.00

Create a hardback book with French link stitch binding, incorporating multiple ribbons into the spine and remnant fabric into the cover.

Availability: In stock

In this workshop I share my take on French link stitch binding – an eye-catching stitch that features an exposed spine and hardback cover.

My step-by-step tutorials share how to incorporate multiple ribbons into the spine, my technique for incorporating remnant fabric into the cover and instruction on making envelope inserts at the front and back of your book.

A great project if you have odds and ends of ribbons and offcuts of fabric! This book opens up nice and flat making for a great sketchbook or journal, with lots of opportunity to personalise and incorporate decorative papers and finishing touches.

In my videos I make an A6 size portrait book with three ribbons across the spine –  I invite you to do the same or experiment with the shape and size using my instructions on how to measure all your materials according to the size of pages you want to include.

A really lovely book with lots of eye-catching details.

> This workshop is taken from my ‘Upcycled Bookbinding: And sew it continues’ online course, which includes my upcycled take on 4 unique and eye catching book structures (for £125). This course includes an invite to an accompanying private Facebook group where you can share your work in progress an connect with other bookbinding enthusiasts, plus access to my ‘Community noticeboard’ which includes recommendations on books, podcasts and suppliers.
