How this course is taught?
Via a series of step-by-step video tutorials, which you can work through at your own pace. These are accompanied by a downloadable document with links to recommended suppliers, advice on sourcing & prepping materials and info on how to make books of different sizes should you want to make more – bookbinding is an addictive craft, you’ve been warned!
You will have continued access to my video tutorials via a password protected page on my website, which means you can re-watch and revisit this bookbinding project as and when you like for a reminder of the process – I only ask that you please don’t share log in details with friends or third parties, doing so will result in you loosing access.
Login information for my Layered Cross Stitch bookbinding tutorials will be included in the kit.
What’s in the kit?
My kits come in an Autumn Glow colour-way: tan & chocolate brown book covers and a complimentary mix of patterned papers, envelopes and coloured threads to give your handmade books a warm glow!
This kit come with the option of remnant animal leather or pleather – a leather-look vegan alternative to animal leather made from PVC with a woven backing. All the leather and pleather included in my kits is remnant or end of line – diverting quality material from landfill and giving it a new lease of life as unique and usable books!
This kit contains:
- 2 leather or pleather book covers (with pre-punched stitching holes), plus extra to make a fastening
- 170gsm plain paper cut to size
- Roll of decorative & vintage papers
- Mix of white and coloured threads
- Beeswax block (for waxing thread)
- Envelope to include in your book
- Tea & biscuits
